Enjoy a Night Out at Improv Asylum

When you come to a main stage show at Improv Asylum, you might find it hard to believe that the founding performers were relegated to a basement room at the Hard Rock Cafe. It didn’t even have a proper stage—servers frequently interrupted the performances when they walked from the kitchen to the dining room.

A lot has changed since those early shows in the late ’90s. Today, Improv Asylum resides inside its own theater, and it’s composed of many performers—not a mere three, like the original troupe. It also hosts multiple shows every night of the week, and it encompasses a school where novices can come to take improv classes. Check out what’s going on tonight and grab some tickets to take in a show at Improv Asylum.

Paint Your Own Masterpiece at Made by Me

If you love arts and crafts, but you don’t love the clean-up afterward, let Made by Me do your dirty work. It’s a paint-your-own pottery studio in Cambridge that has all the supplies you need to make a masterpiece, including as-needed guidance from a working artist/staff member.

No need to call ahead and make an appointment. Simply walk into Made by Me and begin browsing its assortment of ceramic pieces. There are options at every price point, and the items range from a mug or a vase to a sushi plate or a lamp base. Once you’ve chosen your ceramic, use a pencil to sketch out a design with a stencil or freehand. Then brush on non-toxic paint in your chosen hues, and hand the piece to the staff. They’ll fire it in the kiln so you can pick up the finished product within six days.

Find Authentic Italian Fare at TreMonte Restaurant & Bar North End

You’ll already be planning your next visit as soon as you finish your first meal at TreMonte Restaurant & Bar. This popular eatery serves authentic Italian cuisine in an upscale but relaxed setting, and the prices are quite reasonable for such a lovely spot in Boston’s historic North End.

Expect a long list of antipasti and pasta dishes, along with entrees like pork tenderloin, veal marsala, and rack of lamb. If you’re craving pasta, try their house rigatoni with sausage and peas in a cream sauce, or the penne pink with dollops of mascarpone cheese. They also do a traditional parmigiana in four different ways with their signature red sauce and plenty of mozzarella cheese. The chicken and eggplant version is a popular choice, and combines two of their best dishes so you don’t have to decide. TreMonte Restaurant & Bar only opened a few months ago, but has the classic cuisine and comfortable atmosphere that make it feel like it’s been a part of the neighborhood for years.
