Meet Our Property Manager

The Batch Yard invites folks to the sweeter side of city living. It’s the side of city living where you walk into your closet instead of living in one. Over here we welcome residents on two legs and four and have plenty of places for everyone to play: green grass for the pups and roof decks for the people.

There’s always a cozy spot to lounge around with a good book or a better cocktail. From where we sit, there are beautiful city views without battling for parking or paying through the nose for space to stretch out. It does sound pretty sweet, doesn’t it? The Batch Yard Property Manager, Alana Ferrari believes it does! Learn more about the property and community with Alana’s Q&A below!

What is your favorite part about living in Everett?

The community, it has a rich past and a bright future. There are always new things popping up around town, and football season is a great time of year because we have the best high school football team in the state!

Are there any exciting developments planned for The Batch Yard?
Yes, we are almost ready to open our doors for tours of the community! The community has a rich past, as you know it’s the old Charleston Chew candy factory that has been restored. There will be a roof deck with a gas grill, a pool with an outdoor movie theater, a giant clubroom, even bigger fitness center with a private yoga/dance studio, and much more! The best part is that we are pet friendly too!

What are your favorite local restaurants and bars near The Batch Yard?
I love going into Charlestown or the North End, its less than a 10-minute drive and there are so many places to choose from!

How do you spend a weekend in Everett?
I always check out the community calendar to see whats happening in the town!

What tips do you have for future residents?
Enjoy the sweeter side of city living!

6 Fun Food “Happy Hours” Around Boston

Massachusetts’ law prevents bars and restaurants from having the traditional liquor-based happy hours found in most cities, but many establishments make up for it by having some pretty awesome food specials instead! Here are six of best in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston – all easily accessible to Batch Yard residents.

A4 Pizza

Late-night diners will rejoice at A4 Pizza’s special of half-price cold slices starting at 11 PM until they run out (or close). The selection rotates depending on what A4 is serving, but the special is available every day in Somerville.

Grendel’s Den

This Harvard Square institution is straight out of a movie about a college town. Grendel’s appeals to early and late eaters by offering its menu for half-off from 5 – 7:30 PM and between 9 – 11:30 PM every night of the week.

Jacob Wirth

This German restaurant in Boston has been open just about forever (actually 1868) and hosted dignitaries, actors and sports legends. Regular folks can dine on 25-cent hot dogs on Tuesday nights when they dine at the restaurant.

Lord Hobo

Formerly the much-loved B-Side Lounge, Lord Hobo took over the Cambridge space a few years ago and has since become a neighborhood staple. Hungry workers can stop by on their way home to nosh on discounted appetizers ($2 off) Monday through Friday from 5 – 7 PM.

Old Magoun’s Saloon

This Somerville restaurant and bar has a special nearly every night of the week, from the traditional Sunday roast to BBQ on Thursdays. Discount wings are available in the fall during Monday Night Football and Old Magoun’s has a rotating theme menu available on Wednesdays.

Tremont 647

This popular South End restaurant serves American cuisine with some global influences that features mostly local, sustainable ingredients. For those hoping to dine at Tremont 647 a bit more casually, try coming in on Tuesdays when tacos are available for only $2 from 5:30 – 10:30 PM.

Boston may not have drink specials, but we’ve got a plethora of fun food available at a discount to go with those full-priced cocktails!
