With warmer weather moving in, it’s time to start thinking about dining al fresco. Boston is home to dozens of delicious mobile eateries and many of them will be pulling up near The Batch Yard this summer at the Somerville Food Truck Festival.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 7, from 11 AM – 4 PM at Assembly Row in Somerville, which is less than two miles from the The Batch Yard. The festival features more than a dozen area food trucks, with more likely to be added as the big day approaches.
Hungry attendees can expect to find everything from Vietnamese sandwiches and gooey grilled cheese to handmade ice cream sandwiches and French macarons. Somerville-based The Bacon Truck will be at the festival slinging bacon-centric mains, sides and desserts.
The Somerville Food Truck Festival kicks off the Food Truck Festivals of New England 2014 Tour. The event presents a chance for residents living on this side of the Charles River to experience all of the delectable delights usually only found in Boston. Tickets for the Somerville Food Truck Festival are only $5 and children 12 and younger get in free.
After you’re done devouring all of the delicious offerings from the trucks, head over the the first day of the Assembled: The Handmade Arts Market at Assembly Row. Back for the second year, Assembled features art and crafts created by New England Etsy artisans.
From delicious snacks to unique crafts, these two events are the perfect way to welcome summer!
